THIS MONTH: CHRIS KERR
Chris "Hammer Time" Kerr
Chris Kerr is a force of nature. He is the brains and braun behind all the major building that has occurred here at the sanctuary. He has tirelessly braved two brutal winter construction projects— leading teams of volunteers through every barn-raising step, all the while keeping an insanely positive attitude despite the frozen snot. On the building sites he cracks all of us up with outbursts of construction gibberish—a special indecipherable language he likes to use while working. All he needs in exchange is the satisfaction of seeing animals using the shelters he helped build. Oh, and bagels, tofu cream cheese, chipotle potato salad and Annie’s Goddess dressing, which he pours on just about everything.

Chris and his wife Kirsti Gholson spend a tremendous amount of time advocating for animals in more ways than we could even begin to list here, but for WFAS specifically they have helped us get off the ground by organizing fundraising events, tabling, fostering animals at their home, watching the farm when we need to leave town and getting down and dirty with farm chores. We got lucky when we landed in Woodstock and found these two kindred spirits. They are our friends in the truest sense of the word and we love them dearly.
