THIS MONTH: DAWN LADD
We’ve decided to start doing a periodic
Dawn with feathered posse.
highlight on righteous folks who have come into our lives since we’ve started the crazy endeavor of creating a sanctuary. This month we’d like to tell you about Dawn Ladd. This incredible NYC lady was looking for a way to offer hands-on care to the animals whom she chose to eliminate from her diet when she became vegan—and oh how fortunate for WFAS.

Dawn owns a lighting restoration company in Brooklyn called Aurora Lampworks which keeps her busy and in the city mostly. But somehow, in this savvy successful business owner’s world, she manages to rescue and foster farm animals in the city, arrive at the sanctuary every weekend with the energy of an 18 year old boy, and work her a** off from the time she arrives until her departure — and that’s usually the whole weekend. With an equal passion for the rights of both animals and environment, she is a tireless volunteer, fundraiser, event planner, and now board member. Simply put, she’s a really good egg. Thanks Dawn!

30 feet in the air to help build a barn? Not a problem.
Dawn paticipated eagerly in transporting recovering birds.
